Structure and performance of zeolite supported Pd for complete methane oxidation

The influence of zeolite support materials and their impact on CH4 oxidation activity was studied utilizing Pd supported H-beta H-SSZ-13. A correlation between activity, Si/Al ratio (SAR), the type framework, reduction-oxidation behaviour, species present found by combining catalytic measurements with a variety characterization methods (operando XAS, NH3-TPD, SAXS, STEM NaCl titration). Operando XAS analysis indicated that catalysts high experienced rapid transitions metallic- oxidized-Pd states when switching rich lean conditions. This behaviour exhibited dispersed particles. By contrast, formation ion-exchanged Pd2+ large particles appeared to have detrimental effect oxidation-reduction conversion CH4. limited using highly siliceous beta low capacity for cation exchange. same also small-pore SSZ-13 due lower mobility species. It material should be carefully selected so well-dispersed remain, is minimized.
